Hi, my name is Laura Chipman. I live in the wet and busy Seattle
area in Washington where I currently nanny my young nephew and attend Graduate school to optain my Master's in Library Science.
DragonSpeaker is my first completed book, but I hope to publish many more in the years to come.
I attended college at Southern Oregon State College in Ashland, OR. Now it is known
as Southern Oregon University. I loved English and writing even then, but hadn't really thought that I would ever write
a book. My major was English, the writing option, and I minored in Computer Information Sciences.
Also, I am a graduate of The Institute of Children’s Literature,
having completed two of their offered courses - Writing for Children and Teenagers
and Beyond the Basics: Creating and Selling Short Stories and Articles.
My short story, Adjusting,
won First
Place in my high school’s publication Inside/Out,
and my poetry has been published in the Southern Oregon University publications West
Wind Review and Moving Beyond Walls.
I also dabble in original short stories and Inuyasha fanfiction.
Links are provided on the Favorite Links page. In the fandom I am known as The Literary Dragon.
